I could have sworn before looking at my records that I'd had a slow year, as it has certainly felt that way at times, but apparently by close of play I will have travelled more miles this year than last by a margin of about 20k and visited almost 20 new airports. About 80/20 economy/business split and pretty much evenly split between work and play.

Highlights / Lowlights: Op up to C on DXB-LAX was a definite highlight, with the return leg in Y probably the worst flight of the year. To be fair to EK this was a perfectly decent flight from their end, but 16.5 hours without a break and sat next to a chap who for the second half of the flight was suffering deeply from nicotine cravings and couldn’t sit still was at the very edge of my ability to grin and bear it.


Next year is starting to look interesting, with a potential merger on the work front hopefully leading to some new destinations, whilst on the home front I'm determined to stop spending all my leave going back to the UK.
