I had a similar experience to Mikey a few years back. Flying to GRU from LHR on the 2100 (ish) flight. After a lengthy delay due to engine problems (inc 1 aborted take off) we trundled out to the runway. The captain throttled up the engines, and then backed them off again. Then next thing I saw was him come walking past to the back fo the plane. After 5 mins of sitting on the runway idling, the captain walks back to the cabin and takes us back to the terminal. It turns out that a guy at the back was refusing to sit down and they had to unload him. Since it was now around 1:30am they would be unable to take off due to time restrictions so we all had to get off and the flight would go at 16:00 the next day!!!

When we left the plane there were 10 armed policemen to escort the guy out of the airport!
The worse bit is that I was op-up'd from W to J so not too pleased!
