I am (hopefully) flying UIO>MAD>LHR>MAN this weekend leaving UIO on Friday night with LAN and then the rest are on Saturday with BA.
It's a redemption booking (business class) and the connections are already tight. What will happen if we get part way back (MAD or LHR) and the rest is cancelled? What happens to checked-through luggage if things go pear-shaped? Are there phone numbers I should keep handy just in case? I don't have any status.
If it's just a case of an overnight stay in MAD or LHR, (at BA's expense!) that's no big deal, but if we are likely to be stuck for a few days do we have any options to try and get back with another carrier? Or from LHR, take the train or hire a car?
I know this is a bit premature, but if there are issues, I may already be en route when it happens. So by the time I find out I'll already be tired and stressed, and won't have much in the way of net access. So I'd rather be prepared and know what I need to do in advance. That way I am more likely to keep my cool on the day.
