Check the resolution on the computer. If it's 1024 X 600, then it's not 720p. You want that second number (the 600 in this case) to be above 720 if you want a 720p diplay.
The ones with 11.6" or larger screens pretty much all support 768 lines vertically. The various Acer, Gateway, Lenovo and Macbook models that have been recommended in this thread all can display 720p.
