I just heard from my VOA again that even though the night in Charlotte (my 2nd stay of 3) got the 5K bonus posted on the same line as the miles for incidental charges, because it was a MR stay it didn't meet requirements for a paid stay, and thus, Delta won't post 5K miles for the stay in Raleigh.

I just went back to the T&C's and nowhere does it say it has to be a paid stay. It says:

"A stay is defined as consecutive nights spent in the same hotel, regardless of check-in/check-out activity."

Regarding charges, that is equally vague as the T&C's say:

"Bonus miles will be awarded in addition to Marriott Rewards base mileage offer of two miles per dollar spent on all qualifying charges at JW Marriott®, Autograph Collection®, Renaissance® Hotels, Marriott® Hotels & Resorts, and Marriott Vacation Club® brands;"

I had charges and they seemed to be "qualifying" at the time of posting since I had the bonus miles post at the same time.
