If you're sure you'll be returning to the UK within 12 months of your outbound, I would suggest checking prices of return tickets (and maybe just changing the date as per requirements). With EK, one way tickets are upwards of 70% of the fare of the return ticket, and you are more likely to get the cheapest price on the website for a regular return ticket (and thereby see whether it is a Saver or Flex).
The other thing you could do is call EK and ask whether the fare you're getting in K is Saver or Flex.
