First, apologies if a similar topic has been covered in another thread. I did a cursory search, but couldn't find anything. Hence this post.

I'm using a free night to stay at the Sheraton Park Tower in London on Saturday (live in London, but not Central; using the night to stay in the city for dinner, etc.). I received an e-mail from Starwood today with an offer to pay £60 to upgrade to an "Executive Room", as well as receive a 1,000 point bonus. Question is: as a Platinum, if I pay the 60 quid for the promo upgrade, how likely am I to get upgraded to an even better room via a Platinum upgrade? Or, given the fact that there are clearly Executive rooms available (hence the promotion), just stick with what I've got and hope for the upgrade via my Platinum status?
