These are different Thomas books to the tiny ones you get in the boxes. The £1.13 ones are A5-ish in size.
The books have been written to create an accurate impression of today railway ... in each, there is usually a crash or a broken rail or an engine out of service for maintenance! The most unrealistic is the one where the Fat Controller insists that only clean trains can go out to work and insists they are all scrubbed clean.
