To be clear -- CLT is easy to navigate. Many moving sidewalks. You do not have to clear security, take a shuttle/train/monorail/pony to change terminals. The terminals are all connected and project from a big food court.

Obviously coming home, via a similar route, you'd clear Immigration and Customs in CLT and ahve to re-clear security back into the secure area. The NoS is on the left, if I recall.
