Except when a model is discontinued, meaningful discounts on B&R are rare. Of course anything can happen, but if B&R are already discounting a little, I won't expect meaningful further drop post-Christmas. As you have a major trip coming up, I'd advise you to go ahead and purchase it now.

You can try to call a few local B&R dealers ask if they still have any of the discontinued models or B-stock available. It is unlikely but can't hurt to look. If you find any, those are likely to be attractive deals.
