Thanks for the information. The Delta receipt and page I booked the flight from seemed indicate that there was WiFi, but looking closer at seatguru.com and seatexpert.com it appears that this isn't true. Upon closer inspection, I see what they did is group the SYD-LAX and LAX-ATL flights as one -- the LAX-ATL flight has WiFi, but not the SYD-LAX. This is very misleading.

Anyway I finally logged into my flight itinerary from the Delta website and saw the actual seats I was assigned for each leg. They originally had me in 55A for SYD-LAX but I was able to change it 48A. You are correct, without internet access, there is really no point to having the power source so I will stick with my seat with a little more room than the front Y seats.
