Status probally helped along with experience from prior situations.
Knowing who to call and when as well as how fast vs. waiting to be helped or taken care of. Knowing what quesitons to ask and information to provide including alternate routings, flexibity and helping them help me.
As well as what not to say or do (at least until needed or a last resort, you know, DYKWIA

)...
