If you booked your ticket through the Virgin Atlantic website, the emailed ticket will tell you what your baggage allowance is.

I presume the website page you are referring to is this? http://www.virgin-atlantic.com/en/gb...allowances.jsp

If you are flying with Virgin Atlantic (or their partners) and connecting via London Heathrow, then your baggage allowance would be 2 x 23 kg bags in Y, plus 6 kg in one bag as hand baggage allowance.

I'm wondering what makes you think the information on the website is incorrect? I haven't seen anything reported on the Virgin forum which makes me think it isn't correct, but it's also not a route I've flown.
