I finally made it to QiBao a couple of weeks ago. It's a nice enough place and not yet discovered by foreign tourists. I would say it's less than a 10 minute walk from the exit of the Metro, assuming you use the right one (I think Exit #2 was closest.) No need for a bus.

As it turns out, I have friends that live in that area. I'd just never put two and two together. In any case, here are a couple of extra images of the main canal and a street shot.
