There is a LONG thread on the AA forum where this issue is discussed (lots of confusion and mixed information for the first hundred posts or so), but the final consensus seems to be that you WILL get double miles for the DFW-LAX-DFW segments. Just be sure both directions connect via DFW. It was specifically confirmed by AA's "official" FT poster here:
