I have a gold card that when I spend $50K in a membership year I get a 25K MR bonus. I need a couple of definitions that I can't find in the small print.

1. What is a "membership year?" Is it a calendar year, or twelve months from when you signed up.

2. What is "spend?" They define it as things bought and not returned, no fees, no balance transfers etc. But they don't say if you get "spend" on the date you buy something or the date you pay for something.

For instance - If I buy $10K of stuff on Dec 15, 2010 and my membership year ends 12/31 and then I pay for the stuff on Jan 4, 2011 does the $10K go towards 2010's membership year and 2010's $50K of spend I need for my 25K MR bonus or is it applied towards 2011's because that's when the goods were paid for?
