If you haven't printed out the ticket, you can get a full refund (I'm assuming it's not a sleeper).
If you print out the ticket, there's a 10% penalty. Or, you can use the value of the ticket toward another purchase.
If it's a sleeper, you need to cancel before departure time.
thanks! it's just a regular seat and I only have a online printout. (not an actual ticket from Amtrak's ticket machines in stations)
