I think it’s very wise (even if it is courageous on short term and the good strategy on long term) for IHG to end the franchise contracts with hotels that have not invested in 30 years.
And I cannot understand how hotel owners can even dare saying that it is too costly for them to invest on the renovation, when then have never invested in their properties (hotels that made regular renovations will have no issue to get the new logo, and then attract customers).
Nobody will regret these lousy properties and I wish good luck to Choice hotels for welcoming old hotels nobody wants!
