If it wasn't sad, it would almost be funny on Delta flight 1045
It's been a real comedy of errors. This coming from a guy who understands that things happen and things go wrong.
Flight scheduled for 2:25 PM. Upon arrival at airport, it shows 2:45 PM. I believe this plane came in as Delta 1090 from ATL. It gets to the gate about 2:30 or so...I will try and get the exact time later. Which, of course, means they aren't going to turn it in 10 minutes.
So, we board. At some point near the end of the boarding process the space for luggage runs out. A few bags have to be brought forward. We have all seen that a thousand times. During this process, somehow, I don't know how I passenger becomes upset with Delta employee and asks their name. I am not sure if this was aircrew or ground crew.
After everyone is boarded, the crew literally screws around talking about stuff and this is in plain sight of everyone in the FC cabin and most are quite annoyed. At some point a red coat arrives who is going to talk with the upset passenger who has now made it back to coach. The ONLY good decision that they made on this is that they didn't have time for the red coat to talk to her.
Even then, they had no sense of urgency with this flight at all. And at least 5 minutes passed after that before the door was shut.
We did have to be deiced briefly...and I am sure Delta will blame the delay partly on that fact. It was late incoming. But the bottom line is that I am likely to miss my connection because the flight crew had no sense of urgency in going anywhere. They could have cared less.
There actually are a couple of things I left out and none of them were good for Delta on this flight.
2:XX Flight 1090 Arrives from ATL
3:30 PM 1045 departs from IND
3:53 PM 1045 leaves the runway
5:02 PM 1045 is scheduled to arrive in ATL
5:05 PM My outbound flight and it is scheduled on time at this point.
I know it happens folks but the crew really set me off on this one. They didn't give a .... and they were rude about it.
Times subject to change as delta.com still isn't working very well.
