I really had thought these kinds of offers would have disappeared with the introduction of segment qualification. Now you can requalify with approx one r/t in IC C, and based on the other thread where people don't see any point in continuing to fly SK after making EBG, there isn't much in this for SK.
A hasty move to counter the AY offer of double points?

This is certainly in the eyes of the beholder. Last year I requalified to EBG after 2 months thanks to the double level points promotion, so I didnīt really care. This year Iīm still 22.000 points away thanks to a series of cancelled trips, so I for one welcome the peace of mind this will give me when i take my next IC trip in January.
And yes, I would love to have a special promotion titled "if your FT tag is Svantevit then we will award you EBG for life and 10 million EB points". Chances of this happening - I would say very slim.
