Some facts about the two Martitim Hotels.
1) The older one Maritim Konferenzhotel (the brown one closer to the main station)
- If you like the dark brown style of the 80ties and beds which feel like hammocks this is your hotel.
2) The newer Maritim Rhein Main (the glass building)
- If you have a room towards the back and you are on the lower floors you will think that the cargo trains which run directly behind the hotel are taking a detour through your room.
- The beds are hammocks.
- In some rooms the wallpaper was already getting loose at the edges.
Both hotels are below standard and desperately need a renovation. I avoid them at all costs.
You forgot about the yummy 34 euro breakfasts.
If the pricing is in the same ballpark, stay at the Welcome Hotel. If pricing is a factor, stay at the Ramada.
I like eating at the Braustübl, the one across from the train station. It is the local brewery's restaurant. Also, for good German food, I like the Ratskeller. The Pig's knuckle is awesome. It is in the main square area.
