They have been out for a decade, but have been affordable rather less time than that. How many flat panel TVs did the OP have a decade ago?

Given typical 5-7 year renovation cycles it will be a while before all CRT TVs are gone. Flat panel TVs with nothing but low-def analog programming are just a travesty... and yes, I will attempt a channel scan if that feature hasn't been locked out.

Given a choice between flat panel TVs or nice quiet HVAC units, I will take the latter every time.
