I think that the former Schwab card is the better deal between it and the SFCU Visa in terms of a charge card (2% cash back vs 1% cash back). I think it's even between SFCU and Schwab on the checking debit cards. I think that the SFCU wins on the savings as I believe that Schwab surcharges 1% for overseas debits on its savings account. Also, I like the fact that with SFCU I'm supporting a smaller CU instead of a large financial institution but that's a qualitative not a quantitative benefit. Strategically it might be wise to diversify if you charge a lot overseas in case the former Schwab card loses some of its great charge benefits now that FIA has taken it over.
