I have found that ALL Sheratons in Chicago, The Westin in Puerto Rico, The Westin in Key Largo and too many other Starwood hotels Don't ever as in the department does not exist at the hotel. You can call at 9AM Noon or 4:40PM. No in house reservations, at all EVER. Try it. If you ask for the front desk and then ask to book a room, all on your dime, you will be sent to central, and you will still be chaeged by Ma-Bell for the long distance call. It is not an issue about them being closed, it is about them NEVER being open in the 1st place. Why ( This is for you Starwood Lurker in Austin) Why do the hotels not just tell the callers that they are too cheap, lazy or whatever to take our calls directly? Or Why dont they just TELL us "I'm sorry, Starwod is too cheap to allow us to sreve you here so we will transfer you to a central reservations office that has no idea about our hotel all at your long distance expence. Or if yu want here is the toll free number, call them your self?
Starwood, can you give an answer of why you dont belive in service enough to anwer our calls when we call the hotels? Or don't you have an answer that you believe is good enough? Dont you value our being customers enough to give an honest ethical answer here?
