This reminds me of a situation we had with newspapers in Holland who were asking for government funding or protective measures to make sure new comers online wouldn't be able to replace them or take their revenue streams away. It might seem unfair but in the end the best thing to do is learn from it and adapt.
If AF wants to be leading they should adapt to new times and be focus on innovation again. AF/KL hardly has any or no flat beds in Y at all, the economy premium is a nice addition in recent times but comes at a very steep price for passengers, their website and booking process sucks, the FF program has been stripped down and overall the product has degraded big time over the years.
Insteasd of looking in the mirror they blame the competition...
