This wasn't the Alaska Boardroom, but back in the early 80's Western Airlines offered a lifetime membership to their lounge for what I recall was about the price of what an annual Boardroom membership goes for now. At the time I was young, frugal and didn't travel a lot, so I couldn't justify the expense in my own mind. I'm sure Delta would have had to honor these when they sucked up Western, so I have been kicking myself ever since for not going for it.
