I have a passport wallet, which accommodates basic travel docs, a few currencies, cards, etc. Mine is not Tumi but looks like it and this is the only photo I can find: http://www.tumi.com/product/index.js...ndSrc=paramNav.

The above wallet goes inside a cabin bag, which also accommodates a few other basics and stays with me throughout the flight: http://www.target.com/SwissGear-Vert...n&frombrowse=0

In cities, unless I know it would be needed, I don't take my passport around. I remember the days when you could have needed the passport to cash a $20 traveller's check, but that time is thankfully over. I'd leave it wherever I am staying. At hotels I'd use their safe.
