It's possible, but it's a violation of the terms and conditions. There is an option in My Account to merge two accounts together as well.
Yeah, customer service is actually really competent when you do that. I ended up with a second account that was never used - when i asked them to close it, they apparently came back with a 3rd account in my name and address that hadn't ever had any activity. I don't know how the duplication happened, but they were handy in cleaning it up.
