Just got back from a few days in London, which included a trip to Salisbury by train (and bus from there to Stonehenge). Didn't realize that buying those train tickets would save us so much money on the London Eye and Wax Museum. It's a great deal that any visitor should consider.
Information here.
I'm pretty sure the idea is to bring out-of-towners into London to spend $$$, but there don't appear to be any restrictions on who can take advantage of the offer. One leg of your train journey must end in London, but any round trip will do that.
For what it's worth, our trip to Salisbury was 31 pounds each, and another 18 I believe for the bus & entry to Stonehenge. Very worthwhile, less epensive and faster than doing one of the bus tours from London. Only thing I'd change would be the temperature... but if it had been warmer, we wouldn't have gotten
photos like this.
I do wish we'd been able to spend more time walking around Salisbury though. Great town, and the Cathedral is not to be missed.
