If nothing else, the odd agent who misses a good opportunity to keep his mouth shut opens a window on what is thought but NOT said by lots of his colleagues.
And don't forget that these methods also allow women agents a chance to do things they wouldn't dream in a civilized society (anyone remember when we all lived in one?)
