I recently had a change in the frequency of my business travel and therefore in the number of annual "stays" at Starwood properties.

My annual membership as a Gold member was scheduled to end this year and they extended it to the following year. I'm hoping to stay enough with Starwood properties to RETAIN my SPG Gold status and particularly since I'll be using my miles for my honeymoon next year.

Since I have a large amount of points I want to be able to use them AFTER I'm assuming my SPG Gold status will end. Does anyone have any tips regarding how to get those SPG Gold benefits EXTENDED say, a few months beyond my anticipated "cancellation" date? We're talking 3 months (short of staying additional stays).
