This is not something I've had to worry about before, but does anyone know (for a fact, rather than "probably not"), if we would be able to use an upgrade on Air Canada, and change the FF number to another Star Alliance carrier?

The question is pertinent because it starts giving an exit strategy to Aeroplan for those of us wanting to leave and use the benefits we earned in the last year.

I've done this previously in other situations, had upgraded tickets with United and Thai that were done on an Aeroplan number.
