No, there is a big difference.
How many people look like you? For me, probably a lot. I could easily mail my passport to any person in the world that looks like me, and have them use it to enter the country. There is no biometric authentication currently on a passport.
A quick interview of a person helps to establish that they can speak English, etc., protecting against the above situation. It is reasonable security and a method to protect our country and its borders. It is not an invasion of "rights," as you still can not answer, but be prepared to be detained while they do due diligence to find out you are indeed who you claim to be. I think most Americans want our borders protected in this way, which is frankly quite reasonable.
This is completely different from exercising rights (to remain silent, etc.) in domestic situations or a situation where you did not do anything to get stopped, or searches by the police, etc., etc.
To group all of the "exercising of rights" together is an obvious straw man. Some exercises are needed, others less so.
