I have an upcoming trip, CDG-ZRH-LAX-YVR, booked as a C award through Aeroplan.

Thing is, the ZRH-LAX flight (on LX) gets in at 4:45pm and the last LAX-YVR flight for the day (also, incidentally, with XF seats available) is 5:40pm, leaving me with a connection time of 0:55. Now, I'm not too worried about this, as I'm going int'l to int'l and I don't think it'd be that hard to make the flight. Aeroplan's computers thought differently, and so I had to book LAX-YVR the next morning at 9:28am on UX, thus leaving me to spend the night at the airport Westin.

If I end up in LAX after my LX flight, would there be any possibility of being puton standby for the 5:40pm flight, assuming I do indeed have enough time? Or is it only "same-day" (even though it's an int'l connection as part of one itinerary) standby that's available to me?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
