well... since my flight is this weekend, i dont think there is a chance for the split as it's too close to flight time... well i do have the exit row coming and going. time to break out that extra CO Currency before it expires...

They do have the ability to split the fare. It should cost you only the increase in taxes/fees. I was extremely lucky that the first person I spoke to at the Elite Line was able to talk to web support and get it done without too much hassle. IIRC, it cost me ~$6 on a RT IAH-ANC being split at SEA. It was worth it to me because of the increased EUA chances. Others have reported resistance when they've requested direct flights being split.
