They do get recognition. They get to book later. They get to come home earlier. Or if they so choose, they get to stay a lot longer. Some times they get other benefits as well, like stopovers. Or flying at a civilized hour. Or on a Friday.
The fact is people paying V, H and B fares always got more, usually lots more, than those paying lesser fares. You can hardly argue that SDSB is a benefit but relaxed booking requirements and other benefits aren't.
