I have never had a problem getting a nice table or counter seat at the NY Bar. Sometimes I call up before I go there to have them get a table or counter seats ready, but sometimes I don`t even do that. You should have no problem on a Saturday night.

I cannot comment on the helicopter transfers, but the concierge should be able to give you the information you need. I am sure that the people on the Miles & More forum would be able to answer your question re check-in time on LX.
