I totally agree. I actually made a post on the same topic. The hotel is especially unappreciative of Starwood elites. There is a big sign that says, "This hotel is independently owned and operated" and I think it shows.

I like the Marriott much better when I need to be at Newark Airport. The Marriott accepts the entertainment card and I have gotten rates as low as $79
