Interesting, we used to get emails allowing and advising of the status upgrades available. Does this not still occur? I would also assume that the current prestige card can be swiped and it would indicate Elite status?
OP has qualified outside the cut off date and thus would not get the usual status upgrade notice. Technically, OP does not become Elite until March 2011, and email for benefit selection will likely arrive with the first or second wave either next week (tended to be after the 15th) or at the end of the month. Kit would probably arrive mid-January. Also, with the new e-upgrades, OP would not be able to take advantage of these until March.
