If scanners and pat downs are not implemented at the USA's busiest airport, on the main UK-USA transatlantic route threatened by terrorists, what justification can there possibly be for these measures to be in place in any other US airport?
Your flight must have left from Pier A. Pier B had 3 BKSX installed (but not in use) as of Saturday (and installation was within the last 2 weeks). T8 (where you'd board AA LHR service, for example) also apparently has wall-to-wall BKSX.
