She says that while she has flown in Asia, going through the metal detectors (NRT, KIX, HKG, TPE, BKK, KUL to name a few), her braces have not set the detectors off there. She is wondering if perhaps the WTMDs in the U.S. are more sensitive, have been turned up unnecessarily, etc. I told her I couldn't be for sure and was wondering if anybody on this board has been through one with dental braces on, retainer, etc. She has braces in with a steel insert wire to reinforce her teeth. Thanks for any input.
They are not an issue, they wont cause any alarms or extra screening
