I just stayed at this property and was not at all impressed. While the hotel itself was not bad, the service was horrible. I was given a breakfast voucher because I was upgraded to the club level as a SPG gold and the lounge was closed. While the voucher is a very nice gesture, I was very dissappointed when I tried to use it.
My girlfriend wasn't feeling well so we didn't get to the restaurant until 11:15 for breakfast. The hostess said that we missed breakfast and that we could not use the voucher. Appearantly breakfast ended at 11:00. I went to the receptionist and explained my situation and asked if I could get the "equivalent" from the lunch menu or something else because I did not know breakfast ended at a certain time. I was never told I had to use it by an exact time and there were no times written on the voucher itself.
The managaer on duty said that "this was an independently owned and operated hotel and that "Starwood" only paid for breakfast for it's elite members and not lunch." I explained that I merely wanted an equivalent meal or something that the hotel could do to accomodate my situation. The manager showed zero effort in accomodating my request and simply said no.
I left the hotel with a very unsatisfied feeling. It wasn't so much the free breakfast that I was worried about, it was the way I was treated and the unwillingness of the hotel manager to compromise. As a result, I left an unhappy customer and I think I will go for the Marriott next time.
