Yes, the old former Sheraton Hartford downtown adjacent to the Con Ctr has been a Hilton for over a year or so now! I remember being there during the remodeling period.

Regarding the shuttle:

"I think it is unreasonble to start a shuttle at approx. 7:05am as MANY flights leave or must be checked in for prior to the 7:45am the shuttle could get me to the airport."

Well, I agree, but it's a courtesy and FREE so hey- just pretend they do not have it!

"Hotels that have a 25 minute ride to the airport should not advertise a shuttle. This because normally the propeties that have them are near the airport NOT 12miles away! And we are used to 5 minute rides."

Well, again, it's a courtesy and FREE so I disagree. I actually like these because IF the timing is right, it can save you $60 easily! And if one doesn't use it - well -pretend it's NOT there!

Having said all this, free shuttles, IMHO, are kind of notoriously unreliable in my experience and so I would NEVER really count on it!

But no its NOT a "ripoff" in my view - just bad timing for you!

Seems that at least your internet connection is working. When I was there they had a bit of trouble with the HS (T1?) line.

BTW- I stayed there last month and just got my bill which says Ramada.

And in the interest of full disclosure, I had a car when I was there!

On the bright side, the location was pretty decent and the cost was excellent. And they did provide a Platinum amenity - the old standard "whatever" bar and stuff. They have an indoor pool and little gymnasium. Yet, as I'd noted elsewhere, it's a tough place to recommend to others.

Waiting literally forever (hour) for food after a lebgthy wait to order in the hotel restaurant was my main problem, since noise is manageable for me because when I finally go to bed I'm usually so exhausted I'm nearly deaf. And I also get along with litle sleep!

What did you think of the "Club Lounge"?

My main gripe was the huge delay in getting my food- whish IS inexcusable- but even here, I did feel that at the very least the staff was trying their level best!

Incidentally, I was forewarned about this place in response to a previous FT post. Thanks agin for the emails folks! You were right!

Perhaps it will be a far better place as the staff settles and the kinks are worked out!
