Take away the profiling angle for a moment, look at the numbers. 11 million transited Ben Gurion in 2009. TSA says two million pass through checkpoints per DAY. That's 730 million annually.
What's missing is the ratio of pax to security team. Their method, could indeed scale quite well once we know that ratio. And let's not forget the wasted dollars on NoS machines and ID checkers and maybe put them to better use with a system like this.
