Yes, Newsworld International was sold by CBC last year to the USA Network, which has changed it into a primarily documentary channel. During the September 11th period, they provided direct feeds from our Newsworld, but little of that is provided on a regular basis. The only other Canadian choice is TV5 in French, which includes SRC news and general programs from the various French-language networks of Europe. There are a number of versions available in the Americas and Europe, as well as in Asia. However, most US cable systems don't carry it, nor did they carry Newsworld. Which is why CBC sold it.

The English language newspaper to which you refer folded because the market couldn't sustain it. I believe there is still a French paper published out of Ft. Lauderdale for the Quebec snowbirds. The reality is there is a very limited market for Canadian news and information outside our borders. It does not pay media outlets to ship their products to newsstands abroad. And the federal government has never really seen the value of CBC International radio, let alone a Canadian international television service.

The internet provides us with a link to all the Canadian newspapers, and to a few radio stations.
