While I'm not going to make excuses for the lead FA on your LAS-JFK red eye, I will assume though that that red eye was not the first flight of the day for the FA, but probably his last. Coupled with the fact he could've been doing short hops all day out of LGB and now has to work a red-eye, it could've just been an anomaly.
