I'm in 2A on the LA sector and trying to get 9A in economy class on AA sector. I did have oprion of AA to MIA only..no J seats available to JFK. It's still a while away and seats become available all the time. Now if it were QF I'd be able to request a seat to be opened(which 9/10 works) don't think I'm affored same luxuries with AA/LA.

One question: So I arrive in MIA and I clear customs there..whats terminal change process here like and is there a fast track..? Also seeing im invol. downgraded for AA sector will they be dragons about luggage allowance considering rest of my itinerary is in J Class when I re-check in for DCA flight?
