I hear this argument quite often for the reason why MRs can be a worse deal than they seem, and I think for some they are. In my case (and I think I'm not alone), I can be just as productive on a GoGo flight as I am on the ground, so when I need to do MRs I take them during the week (when cheap flights also tend to be most plentiful). While some should most certainly account for their time in the cost, like folks who have to give up a weekend day, I and a perhaps small cadre of others are lucky enough not to lose much in the way of productive time on MRs, so I'd personally rather take a 762 transcon or two than pay to buy back status. Everyone's situation is unique of course!
