I've stayed at both and they are opposite ends of the spectrum.
Le Meridien is a proper resort, popular with mainly Northern European guests. Very well run and immaculate, with a lovely beach. There is a thread just about it on the Starwood forum.
Haadson is a small, local style resort, sent around ponds and in a coconut tree plantation. It is not on the beach, but set back so no sea views. Regular rooms are way back in the plantation and in 2 storey (if I remember, maybe 3 storey?) blocks. Deluxe rooms are in small bungalows around the ponds. The pool is small but very attractive. The food is excellent but restaurant very small. At the time of my visit, they had 2 (two) old sunbeds over the road on a the very narrow beach. It's very relaxing there and the food is very tasty, but it's not the best place for the beach when there are so many other places beachfront in the area.
