It's true that you would receive 4 points per dollar in this case; however, that's not really a bonus, since you would have received 3 of those 4 points by paying cash (or using Visa or a non-Sheraton Optima card or whatever).
I guess the only way you could really consider this a bonus is if you otherwise wouldn't have been at Gold level.
